The Daniel Boone Area School District is a suburban school district located in eastern Berks County bordering both Montgomery and Chester Counties. Although this mid-size school district is primarily suburban it does have many rural enclaves. The school district is named after the frontiersman Daniel Boone whom was born near by. Although the School District is named after Daniel Boone, Boone was actually born in neighboring Exeter Township and as a result the Daniel Boone Homestead is located within the Exeter School District. The district is in commuting distance of Reading, Allentown and the Philadelphia Metro Area. The Daniel Boone School district is comprised of the municipalities of Amity and Union Townships as well as the Borough of Birdsboro. Suburban sprawl hit the district during the housing boom of the early 2000s and as a result the real estate available in the district has a mix or historic homes as well as modern construction and everything in between.
